Literacy Services recognizes that reading and writing is a family affair. We seek to support and contribute to family literacy best practices by our continuous involvement in the California State Library initiative, Early Learning with Families (ELF).
In 2006 Literacy Services partnered with Children's Services and developed programming especially for babies and their families, Babies Love Books and Library Playtime. With the introduction of Babies Love Books and Library Playtime, Butte County Library offered programs for 0-18 months old for the first time. ELF continues to enhance and inform the way we serve young children 0-5 and we encourage you to contact your local library for times and dates to enjoy Babies Love Books, Library Playtime and other programs for young children age 0-5.
