  • OneClickDigital and Zinio for Libraries are now RBdigital.
    OneClickDigital is now updated to RBdigital. With the new RBdigital app, audiobooks, magazines (with the integration of Zinio for Libraries) and eBooks will be available in one easy-to-use app! Your Zinio for Libraries and OneClickDigital logins will remain the same.

    RBdigital Support also provides patron-facing training webinars for users about the new interface.
  • Open a my Social Security account at the library!
    Social Security representatives will be here to help you with online Social Security services on Third Wednesday of every month from 12 PM - 2 PM at Chico Branch Library, 1108 Sherman Avenue, Chico, CA 95926, Phone: 530.891.2726
  • Text Messaging Notification Now Available
    Patrons can now utilize text messaging to receive notices about items that will be due soon, a request that has arrived and is waiting to be picked up, or for items that are due. The process to sign-up is simple. Patrons can ask library staff for assistance, or access their account online at Once your account is open, choose the “your messaging” button, and select the preferred messages. Some charges for text messages may be incurred when using this service. Please check with your mobile service provider if you have questions.
  • Open Mic at the Chico Library
    Join writers and readers for an exciting evening of original and best-loved pieces at the Chico Library the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Presenters share everything from haiku to sonnets, short stories to autobiographies, folk songs to instrumental guitar pieces. Everyone is welcome to participate or sit back and enjoy the storytelling! Call Katy at 530.434.3794 with questions.
  • Biggs Branch Summer Reading Program Presents... Amazing Mazes!
    Do you like making and solving puzzles, building creative structures, and working with other people to make something AMAZING? Kids aged 5-12 are invited to join us at the Biggs branch of the library on Saturday, July 22, from 10AM - 11AM to build their own individual mazes with recycled materials and collaborate on one big maze!

Reading by Design

Join us at the Butte County Library this summer for our Reading by Design Summer Library Program!

All six library branches are participating in June and July, and will have FREE events and activities for all ages. Children and teens are especially encouraged to participate by reading for fun and engaging in library events. Adults are also welcome to participate in summer programs.

Your ticket to a world of adventure, learning and fun!

Get free tickets with your library card!

Discover & Go is a museum pass program that provides California library cardholders with free and low-cost tickets to local museums, science centers, zoos, theaters and other fun cultural venues.  Reserve a pass today!

How Does It Work?

Login to Discover & Go online using your Butte County Library card number and pin.  You can browse for tickets by date or by venue, reserve your passes, and print them. The passes are secure, and include the library cardholder's name and the date a given pass will be valid. Our museum partners simply verify the library cardholder's ID. The number of passes to a given venue are limited, based on a pre-agreed upon number.

Your library account must be in good standing to participate. Please call your local branch to update your account information.
