Important Library Announcements-

BUTTE COUNTY LIBRARY COMPUTER ACCESS AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS IMPACTED BY THE NORTH COMPLEX WEST ZONE FIRE

In an effort to assist residents impacted by the North Complex West Zone Fire, the Butte County Library will offer computer access to survivors beginning Wednesday, September 23. All library branches, except Biggs, will have a limited number of computers available to use for FEMA application, insurance and other related paperwork. There is no need to be a library member; guest passes will be available allowing impacted residents computer access for up to an hour. Computer usage and Wi-Fi access for general purposes remains suspended. The Butte County Library Literacy Coach will also be available to provide Wi-Fi access to residents at Lakeside Market located at 5250 Olive Highway, every Thursday from 9AM-Noon, beginning September 24th.

To comply with COVID-19 reopening guidelines, and for the safety of library staff and patrons, social distancing measures will be in place. Library patrons are required to wear face coverings, in accordance with California Department of Public Health face covering guidance. Butte County Library staff members are available by phone at 530.552.5652, Tuesday through Saturday from 10AM-5PM. 


BUTTE COUNTY LIBRARY OPEN FOR LIMITED SERVICES

For the remainder of the summer, Butte County Library branch hours are as follows:

  • Biggs Branch: Tuesday Noon-6PM and Saturday 10AM-4PM
  • Chico Branch: Tuesday-Saturday 10AM-4PM
  • Durham Branch: Tuesday-Wednesday Noon-6PM, Thursday-Friday 10AM-5PM
  • Gridley Branch: Tuesday-Wednesday Noon-6PM, Thursday-Saturday 10AM-4PM
  • Oroville Branch: Tuesday-Saturday 10AM-4PM
  • Paradise Branch: Tuesday and Thursday 1PM-6PM, and Saturday 11AM-4PM

We have a new phone number!
As part of County phone upgrade, Butte County Library has a new phone number! All library patrons, regardless of their home branch, should call the library at 530.552.5652 Tuesday through Saturday from 10AM-5PM, for all of their library needs. Individual branch numbers are discontinued. Literacy Services can still be reached at 1.888.538.7198 or email Literacy@buttecounty.net.

Butte County Library is offering curbside services at all library branch locations.  Butte County residents will be able to reserve items online through their library card, by phone at 530.552.5652, or e-mail.  Patrons may pick-up their reserved items using a curbside holds pickup service.  From here you can select a 30-minute appointment to pick up your library holds curbside.  

During this time:

  • All library branch locations are accepting returns.
  • Donations cannot be accepted.
  • All meeting room reservations are cancelled until further notice.
  • WiFi is available for use with your own device. 
  • Computer facilities and printing are not available.
