| This fiscal year, Butte County billed approximately $195 million in secured property taxes, which represents the 1% tax on the assessed value of property, plus voter approved school bonds and special direct assessments. The taxes collected this year will be distributed among several local agencies that share this source of revenue. Schools will receive the largest percentage of property taxes followed by the County, redevelopment agencies (RDAs), cities and special districts. |
