Weather related road closures and warnings are posted from a list compiled by the Road Maintenance Division of the Butte County Department of Public Works. The list is periodically updated during storm events during normal working hours (M-F 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM). This list is for County maintained roads only, and does NOT include any State Highways nor city maintained roads. Roads may be flooded and not on this list due to localized conditions. While the Department makes every effort to provide accurate information, the Department is not responsible for any omissions that may occur.

The County is divided into five road districts. The road closure list is organized by road districts. The roads named in the list are roads that typically are closed during rain or snow events. Additional roads will be added as necessary.
Field Descriptions:
Date Closed/Recorded: Date and time of notice
Road Name: Name of road may be listed more than once to narrow down exact sections of road.
Location: Describes the section of the road
Status:
WARNING - Open with caution (see Reason)
CLOSED - Closed to ALL traffic
EV ONLY - Only emergency vehicles permitted
Reason: Explains the reasoning for the notice, whether chains are required or the road is closed due to flooding, road work, etc.
Date Opened: Date and time when opened or cleared
NOTE
: During storm events, the road closed list is updated several times a day, as necessary. Because some browsers use cached copies, you should refresh your browser to clear the cached copy. On the menu, click on VIEW and then REFRESH.
