NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the Director of Public Works, 7 County Center Drive, Oroville, California, until 10:00 a.m. April 25, 2012, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud for construction in accordance with the project plans and specifications to which special reference is made, as follows:

ORD FERRY ROAD BRIDGE SEISMIC RETROFIT
AT SACRAMENTO RIVER

The proposed project involves, in general, retrofitting pier columns and footings of the 1308-foot long, nine span, reinforced concrete box girder bridge. Work shall include retrofitting the foundations of six of the existing pier columns with new 14-inch round steel pipes driven between the existing footing and temporary sheet piling and enlarging the footing cap. In addition, column casings will be added to each of the bridge piers and hinge seat extenders will be installed at all four hinges. Bridge work also includes the replacement of joints seals and bearing pads, a methacrylate deck treatment, and installing bridge debris deflectors. Temporary construction roadways and temporary construction trestles will be need to conduct the bridge work. Rock slope protection is to be placed around the abutments.
The UDBE Contract goal is 2 percent.
