Many Butte County residents live in one of the five incorporated towns or cities: Biggs, Chico, Gridley, Oroville or Paradise. Butte County government provides services to residents through 23 diverse departments. The Butte County Library is offering community members fee amnesty this September in honor of National Library Card Sign-Up Month. Throughout the month, library cardholders with outstanding library fees/fines and unreturned items can visit their local Butte County Library branch to have outstanding fines forgiven.

24-Hour EBT Card Outage Starting June 23 at 11 p.m.

The state of California is transitioning to a new Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) vendor on June 30, 2018. Because of this transition, a statewide 24-hour EBT outage/black-out period is scheduled from 11 p.m., Saturday, June 23, 2018, through 11 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2018. During this outage, cardholders will not be able to access their EBT food or cash benefits.
