Butte County has partnered with OpenGov to provide online interactive tools to view the County’s finances via a Financial Transparency Portal.

The new portal, which includes instructions for accessing and navigating Butte County’s OpenGov website, was announced during the May 8 Board of Supervisors Meeting. When viewing the OpenGov site, members of the public can access various interactive budget reports and year-to-year comparisons on the County’s expenditures and revenues. Community members can also customize how they view and filter data.

“As a public agency and public servants, we are responsible for providing the public access to information,” said Chief Administrative Officer Shari McCracken. “While County financial reports are available online and through public records requests, the portal gives community members direct access to straightforward data.”

In addition to offering public access to important financial information, OpenGov will also help County staff streamline analysis and reporting. The new Financial Transparency Portal is available at www.buttecounty.net/finance.
