PLANNING - NOISE ORDINANCE
General Plan Information
The Butte County Board of Supervisors passed Ordinance #4053, Noise Control on March 26, 2013. The Ordinance became effective on April 25, 2013. The Noise Control Ordinance is used to assess complaints of noise alleged to exceed County Standards as set forth by the Noise Element of the Butte County General Plan and the Noise Control Ordinance, and to address violations of these standards. General Plan Health and Safety Element Goal HS-1 requires the maintenance of an acceptable noise environment in all areas of the County. More specifically, Health and Safety Element (Noise Element) Action HS-A1.1. directs that the County establish a Noise Ordinance. Complaints concerning noise violations may be reported to the Department of Development Services, which will investigate the complaint in accordance with Butte County Code Chapter 41 –Code Enforcement Policies and Procedures, and Chapter 41A. –Noise Control.
