2012 BUTTE COUNTY AIRPORT LAND USE COMMISSION
Formed in accordance with Public Utilities Code Section 21670 and Butte County/City Selection Committee Resolution No. 84-2 dated June 28, 1984. The Airport Land Use Commission is responsible for protecting public health, safety and welfare by ensuring the orderly expansion of airports and the adoption of land use measures that minimize the public exposure to excessive notice and safety hazards within areas around airports to the extent that such areas are not already devoted to incompatible uses.
The Commission shall consist of seven members to be selected as follows: Two representatives of the cities appointed by the City Selection Committee, two members representing the County appointed by the Board of Supervisors, two members representing the airports within the county appointed by a selection committee comprised of the managers of all the public airports within the county, and one member representing the general public appointed by the other six members of the commission.
The Airport Land Use Commission holds public meetings on the third Wednesday of the month, as needed, at 9:00 am in the Board of Supervisors Chambers. Please check below for meeting agendas/minutes.
