Road conditions and warnings are posted by the Road Maintenance Division of the Butte County Department of Public Works. This page is periodically updated during storm events during normal working hours (M-F 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM).
Road Conditions - County Maintained Only

Road conditions related to an active incident are NOT included on this page. Follow updates from agencies in charge of incidents such as CAL FIRE and CAL FIRE / Butte County Fire online.

The conditions on this page are for County maintained roads only, and do NOT include any roads maintained by other municipalities.  See below for other known road condition pages in the area.

While the Department makes every effort to provide accurate information, the Department is not responsible for any omissions that may occur.

NOTE: The most restrictive condition takes precedence when there is an overlap.

  • --- Closed: Roadway is closed to through traffic
  • --- Delays: Roadway may exhibit delays
  • --- Detour: Alternative path of travel
  • --- Traffic Control: Roadway may exhibit delays with traffic control in place
  • --- Caution: Warning and/or proceed with caution. Sudden and unpredictable changes in conditions.
