Referrals Made By the Court

Treatment Court Services provides substance abuse treatment to individuals in the Drug Court and Prop 36 Court programs. Behavioral Health staff are part of a Court Team (Judge, District Attorney, Public Defender, Probation Officers, Sheriff’s Officers) who work together to help clients begin the recovery process from their addictions. The Treatment Court Team provides research-based treatment, utilizing the “13 Effective Principles of Drug Treatment” recommended by the National Institute of Drug Abuse and the “10 Key Components of Drug Court” for a comprehensive court model.

We strive to empower clients to take responsibility for their recovery, life, and success. Drug Courts are committed to the concept that alcohol and drug services, and treatment are preferable to incarceration of nonviolent drug offenders. In 1995, the Butte County Drug Court began. Originally, it was one of 100 in the United States.
