Iversen Wellness and Recovery Center
492 Rio Lindo Ave., Chico, California 95926
The Iversen Wellness and Recovery Center is a group of men and women challenged by a variety of mental health, alcohol & drug issues. We provide various activities and levels of participation to the community including weekly groups, writing articles for the newsletter, attending business meetings to help organize and plan activities, participating in community outings, assisting with fund-raising, finding support from others with similar life issues and becoming a peer coordinator.
The Iversen Wellness and Recovery Center was created to serve those with mental illness. We offer the chance to work and develop the skills needed to pursue goals, such as school, or a job in the community. We also offer support through groups and socialization free from stigma.
Services we offer include a variety of groups geared toward helping individuals with day to day issues, as well as other issues related to their illness and its unique challenges. Some of the groups we offer include Bi-Polar Support and Process Group.
We also help with services related to needs such as housing and job placement. This is done through networking and computer access.
Our activities include arts and crafts, informative guest speakers, special community outings, computer training, Internet access, e-mail service, peer support groups and much more!
