DRI Overview
Butte County applied for and received over $7.3 Million Disaster Recovery Initiative (DRI) funds to assist with recovery from the 2008 wildfires. Disaster Recovery Initiative funds are Federal and State funds granted to the local jurisdiction, Butte County, to assist with recovery from federally declared disasters, such as the 2008 wildfires. Butte County received DRI funds to provide Public Improvements to County roads, provide Housing Assistance through rehabilitation and reconstruction, update the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan and provide reimbursement to the County for the development of the Safety Element in the Butte County 2030 General Plan. The chart below outlines the projects and their current status.

Housing Assistance Program
Housing rehabilitation and reconstruction loan assistance is available to eligible homeowners. Loan assistance is available to homeowners whose homes were damaged or destroyed in the 2008 wildfires. The DRI Newsletter provides details about eligibility requirements and loan terms. The program is currently accepting names for the waiting list.
